Reminder: APL works on an M+1 basis. The payment on 5 February covers January's rent. The transfer appears in your account within 1 to 2 working days.
CAF pays APL on the 5th of each month. If the 5th falls on a weekend or public holiday, the payment is postponed to the next working day.
APL is paid with a one-month delay. January's rent is covered by the payment on 5 February, February's rent by the payment on 5 March, etc. This is the normal process: you pay your rent first, then CAF reimburses you the following month.
CAF applies a waiting month when your entitlement opens. The first month of APL is not paid. For example, if your entitlement starts in September, September will not be compensated. Your first payment will be on 5 November (for October's rent).
Log in to caf.fr and check the "My payments" section. Verify that the status shows "Paid" for the current month.
An incorrect bank account number or an unreported bank change can block the payment. Update your bank details if necessary.
The transfer can take 1 to 2 working days to appear in your account. Delays vary depending on your bank.

No, CAF does not process transfers on weekends. If the 5th of the month falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the payment is postponed to the following Monday (or the next working day if that Monday is a public holiday). In 2026, this applies to April (5th = Sunday, payment on the 7th) and July (5th = Sunday, payment on the 6th).
First check your personal space on caf.fr to confirm that your entitlement is open and your bank details are up to date. If the payment shows as made but not received, wait 2 working days. Beyond that, contact your CAF by phone (3230) or through your online space.
By default, APL is paid directly to the tenant. However, in social housing (HLM), it is usually paid to the landlord as third-party payment: the landlord deducts it directly from your rent. You can also request third-party payment in the private sector if your landlord agrees.
