APL Saint-Louis: how much will you receive?

The APL amount in Saint-Louis depends on three main factors: your actual rent (capped at €226/month for a single person in zone 3), your tax reference income from N-2 (year 2024), and your household composition. A flat-rate charge of €62/month is added to the calculation. For a scholarship student in a studio at €500/month, the aid can reach €150 to €250 depending on declared income.

Your APL application is submitted online at caf.fr or via the Mon Compte CAF mobile app. You are covered by the CAF La Réunion. Required documents: signed lease, ID, bank details (RIB), 2024 tax notice on 2023 income, and the landlord's rent certificate (Cerfa 10842) signed by your landlord. Processing takes 2 to 4 weeks. The first payment is made from the month following your lease start date.

The APL zone 3 classification is set by ministerial decree, based on local rental market pressure. Zone 3 covers the rest of France. Saint-Louis is classified here, meaning lower rent caps (€226 for a single person) but generally more affordable rents. This zoning directly affects the rent caps used to calculate your housing aid.

In zone 3, the 2026 APL rent caps for families are progressive: €274/month for a couple without children, €316/month for a household with 1 dependent child. Each additional child increases the cap.
